Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour – 2 Nights 3 Days

3 Days

Nepal is not only a country of majestic mountains and ancient temples—it’s also home to one of South Asia’s richest wildlife habitats. The Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 Nights 3 Days Tour by Female Guide Holiday invites you to explore the wild beauty of Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Nepal’s first national park.

This thrilling short adventure offers a close encounter with nature—lush subtropical forests, diverse wildlife, traditional Tharu culture, and breathtaking sunsets by the Rapti River. Whether you dream of seeing the rare one-horned rhinoceros, spotting the elusive Bengal tiger, or gliding down a tranquil river alongside basking crocodiles, Chitwan promises an unforgettable wildlife experience.

About Chitwan National Park

Established in 1973 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, Chitwan National Park covers 952.63 sq. km of pristine wilderness in the southern lowlands of Nepal. The park’s elevation ranges from 110 to 850 meters, featuring a perfect blend of tropical forests, grasslands, and riverine ecosystems.

Home to over 700 species of wildlife, Chitwan shelters endangered animals such as the Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, gharial crocodile, and Asiatic elephant. It’s also a paradise for bird lovers—with more than 867 species of birds, including the Great Hornbill, Kingfisher, Stork-billed Kingfisher, and Blue Peafowl.

The park’s rich biodiversity, coupled with its accessibility and well-managed eco-tourism infrastructure, makes it a top destination for nature lovers, families, photographers, and adventure seekers alike.

Location and Accessibility

Chitwan National Park lies in the south-central region of Nepal, spanning across Chitwan, Nawalpur, Parsa, and Makwanpur districts. The park is easily accessible by road or air from Kathmandu (170 km / 5–6 hours drive) or Pokhara (148 km / 4–5 hours drive).
For travelers short on time, a 15-minute flight from Kathmandu to Bharatpur Airport followed by a short drive to Sauraha offers the quickest route to the jungle.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Chitwan National Park for a jungle safari is during the autumn (October to December) and spring (February to April) seasons. These months offer pleasant temperatures, clear skies, and excellent chances of spotting wildlife such as one-horned rhinoceros, deer, wild elephants, and even Bengal tigers.

  • Autumn (October–December):
This is the peak season for wildlife viewing. The weather is dry and mild, making jeep safaris, canoe rides, and jungle walks very comfortable. The lush greenery after the monsoon enhances the park’s beauty and animal activity.
  • Spring (February–April):
Another great time to visit, as animals are often seen near water sources. Days are warm, ideal for birdwatching and photography. The forests are vibrant with blooming flowers, adding color to your safari experience.
  • Winter (December–February):
The mornings can be foggy and cool, but the days remain sunny and enjoyable. It’s a calm season with fewer crowds, perfect for travelers who prefer a quieter atmosphere.
  • Monsoon (June–September):
The park receives heavy rainfall, and some trails or lodges may be closed. However, the park turns beautifully green, and it’s the breeding season for many birds—great for birdwatching enthusiasts.

  • Drinking tap or untreated river water is not advised, as it may cause illness.
  • Staying hydrated ensures you can fully enjoy your safari adventures while exploring the diverse flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy your jungle adventure safely and comfortably.

Transportation During the Chitwan Safari

Transportation is a crucial part of a smooth and stress-free safari experience. Your Chitwan Jungle Safari 2 Nights 3 Days package includes convenient transport throughout the tour.

  • From Kathmandu to Chitwan: You can choose between a 5–6 hour private car or tourist van ride, offering scenic views along the Trishuli and Narayani Rivers, or a short 15-minute domestic flight to Bharatpur Airport followed by a 30-minute drive to Sauraha.
  • Safari Transportation: Inside the park, transportation includes:
    • Jeep Safari: Traverse deeper into the park’s dense forests and grasslands in a 4×4 vehicle, accompanied by an experienced naturalist guide.
    • Elephant Safari: Ride on a trained elephant through forest trails and open grasslands for a unique vantage point to spot rhinos, deer, and other wildlife.
    • Canoe Safari: Glide along the Rapti River in a traditional wooden boat while observing crocodiles, migratory birds, and riverbank wildlife.
