For those searching for a challenging Himalayan trip, an amazing stroll through the picturesque Gokyo Lakes trek adventure awaits. A wild and lonesome trek with frozen glaciers and emerald green lakes welcomes you.

The Gokyo Lakes Trek connects Lukla with Phakding, you travel through Sherpa settlements and pine forests on a route dotted with mani stones and mule loads. Cross swaying suspension bridges and walk beside yak trains, which fill the peaceful mountaintop with the sound of their bells. You will be hiking through a treeless, high-altitude desert replete with glaciers and freezing lakes as you enter Gokyo Valley.

Entry Permits & Requirements:

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek requires two permits:

1)  Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and

2)  Khumbu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit.

Unlike many Nepal Himalaya climbs, you won’t require a TIMS (Tourist Information Management System) card for this one.

The Nepal Tourism Board’s office in Kathmandu or the park’s entrance gate in Monjo can provide you with Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit for NRS 3000.

The fee for citizens of SAARC nations is NRS 1500.

You must complete the permit application and present your passport or a copy of your passport. You must be in Lukla to obtain the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. The permission costs NRS 2000 and may be acquired at the rural municipality counter on the outskirts of the settlement. You won’t have to worry about waiting for permits since the company or our guides will take care of everything.

Travel Insurance:

All clients participating in any activity must have travel insurance. Personal injury, death, hospital expenditures, repatriation fees, helicopter rescue, and any other disease covered by the insurance plan will be given, we highly advise you to acquire a comprehensive insurance plan from a trustworthy insurance company.

Passport and Visa

Every client must have a valid passport from the return date with a 6 months prior validity by the Nepalese consulate in your country or immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Itinerary

Day 1 :

The flight into Kathmandu Valley is breathtaking with a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the valley below. A representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and drive you to your accommodation.

Tour the world heritage sites of Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Bouddhanath Stupa. The Durbar Square provides insight into the perceptions of ancient royals. For all Hindus, Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites. The Monkey Temple is also known as Swayambhunath, and the Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the world's biggest stupas. Later in the evening meet up with your trekking guide and make preparation for your trek.

Leave on an early morning flight to Lukla. The Tenzing/Hillary airport is a steep airstrip that hangs off the side of a mountain, so it will be an exciting ride, you meet up with the rest of your trekking crew in Lukla and begin our trek to Phakding. Phakding is where you'll spend the night.

After breakfast we start our trek, we will hike along the Dudh Koshi River crossing it several times with the help of high strung suspension bridges. We will passing through villages, mane (Chortens) and monasteries. Today we will have a good views of the impressive masstif of Mt. Thamserku at 6,623 meters on our right. Today we will enter inside Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park after we reach the village of Monjo. We will have our lunch at Jorshalle,the last village before Namche Bazar. From here the walk is nice and easy through a riverbed, and the the trail starts to accent as we cross one more famous suspension bridge called Hillary suspension bridge. An amazing view of Mt,Taboche, Kwangde, Everest, Thamserku, Lhotse will welcome us to the land of Sherpa!

You can go to Namche Bazaar, the Everest or Khumbu region's central town, which has government offices, ATMs, internet cafés, shops, restaurants, and a bustling market; you can climb up to Sagarmatha National Park to see the sunrise over the Himalayas, which include Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and other peaks, you'll spend the night in Namche Bazaar.

On a trail having gradual ups and downs, leave Namche Bazaar, you may see Himalayan pheasants, musk deer, and Himalayan Thars along the route. After that, you start descending to Kyanjuma, continue the Gokyo paths from Sansa, and see Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawoche, and Khumbila mountains from Mong, after descending to Dudhkoshi Khola, the trek ascends through rhododendron woods before arriving in Phorse. The Tawache and Cholaste mountains may be seen well from here. In Phorse, spend the night.

You may cross paths with local wildlife like pheasants, mountain goats, and musk deer after crossing the Dudh Koshi River, before arriving in Dole, the route travels through woods, waterfalls, and bridges, then ascend a steady track along a magnificent ridge with views of the Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku peaks. Hike over the Dudh Koshi River, starting from Luza village, before arriving at Machhermo, walkthrough little settlements and over sandy trails. In Machhermo, you'll spend the night.

Enjoy views of the Dudh Koshi valley and the Kangtega, Thamserku, and Cho-Oyu mountains from a hilltop. The valley extends beyond the ridge as the route goes past a Chorten and enters Phangga, then descend to the riverbank before ascending a hard route to the Ngozamba Glacier's terminal moraine, before arriving in Gokyo, pass via Longpongo, Raboche Tsho, and Dudh Pokhari. Before calling it a night, explore Dudh Pokhari. Gokyo is where you'll spend the night.

Stay in Gokyo for another day to acclimatize to the high altitude. Today, if the weather permits, you will climb Gokyo Ri. appreciate the Himalayan scenery and the calm Gokyo lakes from the summit of Gokyo Ri also get to the fourth and fifth Gokyo lakes on our trip. The fourth lake is roughly 3 kilometers north of Gokyo. High cliffs and Himalayan peaks rise above it, giving it a distinctive appearance. Then travel a bit further and arrive at the fifth lake, you can see Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu from a neighboring hill by climbing up. Scoundrel's Viewpoint is a great vantage point from which you can observe a lot more. The Cho Oyu base camp and the Ngazumpa Glacier, the world's largest glacier, may be seen from the northern section of the 5th lake, head to Gokyo, and spend the night there.

Pass the first Gokyo lakes on a track that follows the Dudh Koshi River, get to see the Cholatse and Taboche peaks along the route, before climbing a hill, the route drops, get magnificent views of Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and Kangtega mountains after reaching the chorten at the edge, you'll arrive in Dole, pass via the villages of Machhermo, Luza, and Lhafarma. Dole is where you spent night.

Phortse Thanga is reached through a steep trail lined with rhododendrons, wildflowers, and waterfalls. Mountain goats, musk deer, pheasants, and other animals are seen, you'll get a magnificent view of Khumbila mountain from Mong. The views of Taboche, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega mountains savor on your approach to Namche, after a short distance, come to an intersection where the route from Sanasa intersects, then travel on a route that winds around multiple bends and clings to a wooded mountainside beyond Kyangjuma. After reaching Namche army camp hill, take one final glance back to admire Lhotse, the summit of Everest, and Tengboche. Namche Bazaar is around a kilometer away is where you'll spend the night.

Before hiking on a flat route, descend down a rough track and pass multiple suspension bridges. As you go along the same trail to Lukla, the air gets warmer, when you arrive at Lukla, your alpine adventure comes to an end, spend your time on the mountain relaxing. Lukla is where you will spend the night.

Today you'll board an early morning flight to Kathmandu, you may rest or do souvenir shopping after you arrive in Kathmandu. In the evening, you'll have a goodbye dinner to mark the successful conclusion of your adventure. Note: All of the above-mentioned trekking hours and distances are estimations and should only be used as a general guideline.
