Chulu Far East Peak Climbing is one of the most renowned and easy trekking peaks of the classic Annapurna circuit. Nestled in the foothills of the Manang Himal in the northwestern part of the country. The summit of the Chulu Far East Peak is at an elevation of 6059 meters/19,880 feet. The Chulu Range consists of four peaks, two peaks rising on the eastern and western sides. You will be scaling the Chulu Far East. The peak was first scaled by a team of German Expeditions in 1955. Later became famous among climbers and thrill-seekers. Apart from the altitude, the climb is non-technical in most of the sections and is ideal for first-time climbers and experienced ones.

Starting our tour from the Kathmandu Valley

The Chulu Far East Peak Climbing trek starts with a drive from the Kathmandu Valley to the Chame. Traversing on the zig-zag roads following Trishuli and Marsyangdi river, passing bustling settlements, and scattered terrace farms across the hills of central Nepal. The settlement of Chame is the starting point of various treks of the region. From Chame head towards Lower Pisang. crossing waterfalls, pristine rivers, dense woodlands, and high alpine meadows. Next from Lower Pisang head towards  Humde. As you approach Humde you will be greeted by the longest Mani wall in Manang having 266 prayer wheels. Humde also has the only airport in the Marsyangdi valley.

From Humde, head towards Julu Khola. On route visit Lophelling Monastery and witness monks practicing their daily rituals. Next head towards Sher Gompa,  a retreat center for the local Tibetan Buddhist nuns. The following day you will have an acclimatization excursion at Julu Khola, head towards Julu Peak Base Camp, and witness views of Annapurna Massif and the Pisang Peak. The following day progress on the trail towards Chulu Far East Base Camp.

At Chulu Far East Base Camp,  you will have yet another acclimatization excursion and pre-climbing training. Next head towards Chulu Far East High Camp, where you will sleep above the clouds with views of Annapurna Massif, Chulu East, Chulu West, Chulu Far East, and Pisang Peak. From the Chulu Far East High Camp head towards the summit. From the summit witness, the views of the mighty Annapurna II, III, IV, Pisang Peak Chulu West, Himlung Valley, and Gangapurna. After spending a brief time at the summit retrace your steps back to High Camp and towards the Base Camp.

Next, retrace your steps backcrossing several settlements and sections of deep wilderness, and finally to Chame and back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary

The flight into Nepal is breathtaking, with views of the Himalayas and lush green hills. A representative from Female Guide Kathmandu will meet you, drive you to your hotel, and assist you in check-in. After a brief rest head out and take a stroll around Thamel, a lively tourist hub. Later in the evening join in for a special welcome dinner and cultural show at an authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Head out on a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley, and visit various ancient temples, monasteries other landmarks listed on the UNESCO world heritage site. Stroll around narrow alleyways and streets of the valley and witness the true culture and lifestyle of the region. In the evening join in for a short briefing with your guide about the trek and climbing. Overnight in Kathmandu

Leave Kathmandu early in the morning and head towards Chame. The drive takes you across rapids of Trishuli and Marsyangdi river, passing bustling settlements, and scattered terrace farms across the hills of central Nepal. Chame is the starting point of various treks of the region. Once you reach Chame head towards your accommodation later head out and explore the area. Start a friendly conversation with the locals learning about their culture and lifestyle. Overnight stay at Tea House in Chame.

Today you will head towards Lower Pisang. Start from Chame to Bhartang, traversing across dense woodland of rhododendron, cider, and pine forest with miles of undergrowth, following the pristine river. Once you reach Bhartang, explore the apple orchids of the region and have various cuisines made of apples a delicacy of the region. From Bhartang, head towards Dhukur Pokhari and witness views of the high waterfall, sheer cliffs, and ridgelines. As you cross the river this section of trail provides you with views of the Annapurna range. Progressing on the trail cross waterfalls, pristine rivers, and high alpine meadows. Following a descent, you will reach the settlement of Lower Pisang. Overnight stay at Tea House in Lower Pisang.

After breakfast head towards the trail. This section of the trail provides you with mesmerizing views of the landscapes. Crossing several villages, you will reach the settlement of Humde. The settlement of Humde nestles the only airport in the Marsyangdi valley. As you reach Humde you will be greeted by the longest Mani wall in Manang having 266 prayer wheels. Upon reaching Humde head towards your accommodation and later explore the village and witness majestic views of the sunset over the Himalayas. Overnight stay at Tea House at Humde.

Today’s trek will take you across dense woodlands of varieties of Cedar, Pines, and Oaks covered with mosses, ferns, and orchids. As you progress on the trail on route visit the Lophelling Monastery and witness monks practicing their daily rituals. Next following the trail, you will reach the Sher Gompa, a retreat center for the local Tibetan Buddhist nuns. After exploring the Monastery traversing the trail brings you to Julu Khola, a river system that originated from Chulu peak. From Julu Khola, Pisang Peak looms nearby. As there are no tea houses in this region you will be staying in camps today. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in Julu Khola.

This is your day of acclimatization as you climb higher, your body needs to adapt to the thin air in higher altitudes. An acclimatization excursion helps your body to adapt to these higher elevations. The settlement has several vantage points ideal for an acclimatization hike. Head towards Julu Peak Base Camp and witness views of Annapurna Massif and the Pisang Peak. Later head down towards the Julu Khola and make a short hike along the woodlands of the region. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in Julu Khola.

Today’s trek will take you to Chulu Far East Base Camp. As you will reach 5,000 meters in altitude you may feel uneasy so take it slow and have frequent rest. This section of the trail is covered with rocks and snow so take caution. Following a steep ascend you will reach the base camp. From the base camp witness grand views of Annapurna Massif. At dusk witness mesmerizing views of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in Chulu Far East Base Camp.

Today is your second day of acclimatization. After witnessing the Himalayan sunrise head towards the glacier near the base camp for an acclimatization excursion. After the excursion, you will begin your pre-climbing training. After lunch start your pre-climbing training, organize your gears, and the climbing guide will provide you with techniques and training sessions. The guides will demonstrate the proper use of a harness, ascender, carabiner, rappel device, ice axe, etc. As part of the training session, you will have to climb up and descend using ropes. This pre-climb training is critical, especially for first-time climbers, as it will increase their confidence. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in Chulu Far East Base Camp.

Today you will be heading towards the Chulu Far East High Camp. You will be traversing across snowy slopes with sheer cliffs and rocky loose terrain, so take extra caution. Once you reach the Base Camp you will witness mesmerizing views of Annapurna Massif, Chulu East, Chulu West, Chulu Far East, and Pisang Peak. Upon reaching base camp head towards your camp situated nearby a lake and rest as you will be scaling the Chulu Far East tomorrow. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in the Chulu Far East High Camp.

Today you will be summiting the Chulu Far East Peak. Wake up early around twelve and get going by One. As the mountain weather can get harsh as the day goes on. Follow the steps of your climbing guide traversing across snowy terrain and inclined surfaces, in some sections fixed rope, is used. From the summit witness, the views of the mighty Annapurna II, III, IV, Pisang Peak Chulu West, Himlung Valley, and Gangapurna. After spending a brief time at the summit retrace your steps back down towards High Camp and towards the Base Camp. Overnight stay at Tented Camp in Chulu Far East Base Camp.

If your summit attempt on Day 11 is called off due to weather conditions or lack of proper fitness, this extra day has been set aside for summiting, this day can also be used in the case of an emergency, such as flight delays or cancellations and other unanticipated situations. If all goes according to plan, the additional day may be used to take it easy and explore more of the path. Alternatively, you might spend the additional day tour in Kathmandu.

Retrace your steps back today towards Humde Village. Most sections today are on the descent trail. Traverse across dense woodlands crossing various settlements to Humde. Upon reaching Humde head towards your tea house and rest. Later enjoy the success of your climb with your climbing team. Overnight stay at Tea House in Humde.

After breakfast, head towards Chame. Traversing across lush dense woodlands and various scattered settlements along the way to Chame. Once you reach Chame head out and explore the area and start friendly conversations with the locals learning about their legends and culture. Later celebrate your last day in the mountains. Overnight stay at Tea House in Chame.

After breakfast bid your goodbyes to the mountains and the friends you made. After a short hike gets to your transportation and head towards Kathmandu out of the Marsyangdi valley. Following the Marsyangdi and Trishuli river. Upon reaching head towards your accommodation and rest. Later in the evening join in for a special farewell dinner with your climbing team to mark the end of your successful adventure.

After breakfast, a representative from Female Guide Kathmandu will drop you at the airport 3 hours before your flight. Bid your farewell to Nepal. NOTE: All of the trekking hours and distances mentioned above are estimates and should only be used as a general guideline.

Travel Insurance:
