Itinerary

After breakfast head on a long drive towards the norther part of the country. Along the way witness the rolling hills and high snowcapped peaks. After done with border formalities proceed towards the high altitude Tibetan plateau and reach Kodari on the Nepal Tibet border. From here head towards Zhangmu. From Zhangmu a short drive along the winding road and you will reach Nyalam, a small Tibetan town near the Nepal border.

Wake up before dawn and head towards any vantage point to witness the grand views of sun rise. After lunch head on a short drive towards Lotingri, also known as Dingri. An important trading post where Sherpas from Nepal exchanged rice, grain and iron for Tibetan wool, livestock and salt in the past. Along the way visit the Milarepa Cave and Chamda Hot Spring. Also, cross two spectacular passes, the Thong La pass (5050m/16,568ft) and Lalung La pass (5082m/16,668 ft). From the top of the pass witness Himalayan mountain range including Mt. Everest (8848m/29,028 ft) and Shishapangma (8,013m/26,289 ft). Later stroll around Lotingri if your not too tired.

After breakfast head towards Rongbuk. At Rongbuk visit the Rongbuk monastery, the highest monastery in Tibet. Next head towards Everest Base Camp. Upon arriving at the Everest Base Camp. Head on a hike up to the campsite, where you can explore the area and take in the breathtaking views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountain ranges. The hike is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the world’s most iconic natural wonder. After exploring Everest Base Camp head to Shegar. Note: Please be advised that in exceptional circumstances such as inclement weather or civil unrest, the local authorities may temporarily suspend access to the road leading to the Everest Base Camp as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of individuals. It is important to note that such closures may occur without prior notification.

Wake up before dawn and head towards any vantage point and witness the splendid views of the sunrising. After breakfast head on a long drive to Shigatse. Along the way soak in the views of the endless vistas of the Tibetan plateau. Before reaching Shigatse visit the Sakya Monastery and learn about the culture and traditions of the locals.

In the morning visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, a historic and culturally important monastery in Shigatse founded by the 1st Dalai Lama in 1447. After exploring the monestary continue to Gyantse, nestled in the Nyang Chu valley on the ancient trade routes from the Chumbi Valley, Yatung and Sikkim. On the way, explore the Shalu Monastery, founded in 1,040 and known for its beautiful ancient mural paintings. Upon arriving at Gyantse visit the Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot Monastery, and the Gyantse Fortress. After exploring head towards your accommodation.

Todays drive will take you across the tranquil beauty of the Tibetan plateau. Along the way cross the Karo La (5,010m/16,432 ft) and Kamba La (4794m/15,725 ft) passes. Also explore Lake Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake), one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet, also believed to be a transformation of a Tibetan goddess. Next, cross the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) river and after a short drive eventually reach Lhasa.

After breakfast head on a full day sightseen tour of Lhasa’s most famous landmarks. First, visit the Sera Monastery, which a preserved monastery with white-washed walls and golden roofs. It is a serene and peaceful place to visit, with a strong sense of spirituality that is felt throughout the complex. Observe the monks going about their daily activities and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Thereafter head towards Norbulingka, also known as the Treasure Park. Covering an area of around 360,000 square meters, it is considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Stroll through the park’s many gardens, pavilions, and temples, admiring the stunning landscapes and beautiful architecture. The park is also home to a museum that houses a fascinating collection of Tibetan artifacts and artwork. Next proceed towards the Jokhang Temple, an important sacred site that unravels more deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. The temple is a beautiful example of Tibetan architecture, with intricate carvings and colorful decorations. Take in the peaceful atmosphere and marvel at the stunning beauty of this holy site. Finally, end your day with a stroll through the Barkhor Bazaar, the epicenter of Lhasa. The market is filled with open-air stalls, shops, and a crowd of pilgrims. Explore the local crafts, jewelry, and Tibetan souvenirs on offer. The bustling energy of the bazaar is a perfect way to end the day.

Start your day early with a visit to the iconic Potala Palace, situated on a top of a single hill offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the residence of the Dalai Lama and is considered to be one of the most significant cultural and religious sites in Tibet. Here soak in the intricate artwork, religious artifacts, and stunning architecture as you explore the palace’s halls, chapels, and rooms. Next, head to Drepung Monastery, which was built in the 14th century and is believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in the past. This marvelous monastery is steeped in history, culture, and religious beliefs of the Tibetan people. Explore its vast complex of white-washed walls, golden roofs, and magnificent architecture. After exploring the landmarks head back to your accommodation.

After breakfast head to the Gonggar Airport in Lhasa and board a flight to Kathmandu or your destined country. Note: Kindly note that the tour is unavailable during the month of March, therefore, we advise against making a booking for that period. *Flights are not included in this tour
