Yala Peak Climbing takes you to the Northern part of the country towards the Tibetan border which is nestled in the Langtang region. Starting from Kathmandu
The Yala Peak Climbing trip starts with a drive from Kathmandu toward the settlement of Syabrubesi. Syabrubesi is the gateway to various treks of the Langtang region. From Syabrubesi head towards Lama Hotel, traversing across the lush woodlands of central Nepal. On this section of the trail, you may come across the region’s biodiversity. Following the Langtang Khola head towards the Langtang village. This section of the trail provides you with views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Gangchempo. As you progress on this trail you will emerge from dense woodland into a U-shaped valley. The Langtang Valley is nestled on high Himalayan pastureland. Where you will see herds of Yaks grazing. Leaving the hustle and bustle behind, you delve deeper into the region, setting your sights on a specific destination: a government-run cheese factory renowned for its use of local yak milk to craft delectable Swiss-style cheese.
Kyangjin Gompa
From Langtang Valley continue towards the last settlement of the region Kyangjin Gompa. The village of Kyangjin Gompa is a comfortable base for several objectives of the area. After an acclimatization excursion head towards Yala Peak Base camp. After reaching Yala Peak Base camp start your pre-climbing training. At, the base camp sleep above the clouds and witness mesmerizing views at dawn and dusk. Next head towards the summit of Yala Peak.
The summit climb is not too technical, but in some sections, you will be using fixed ropes. Traversing on loose rocks and boulders, you will reach the summit of the Yala Peak. From the summit witness 360-degree views of icy peaks of towering giants. The peaks of Langtang Lirung, Ghanna, Morimoto, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Ponggen Dokpa, Ganja La, Naya Kang, Baden Powell. Also witness Langshisha Ri, Tserko Ri and views of Sishapangma a mountain in Tibet. After spending a brief time at the summit retrace your steps back to Yala Peak Base Camp.
Returning From Kyangjin Gompa
Next from the base camp head towards the settlement of Kyangjin Gompa. Retrace your steps backcrossing various settlements and sections of lush forest of oaks, a mixture of conifers, rhododendron, and trees draped with moss, orchids, and ferns with miles of undergrowth towards Lama Hotel. From Lama Hotel follow a different trail passing through Chilime Hydropower Plant located in Sherpa Gaon, Rimche, and finally to the settlement of Syabrubesi. From Syabrubesi head back towards Kathmandu.
