Pisang Peak Climbing takes to the iconic Pisang Village. A settlement in Manang District in the northern part of Nepal. The village is nestled in the Marsyangdi River valley, on the foothills of Pisang Peak, north of Annapurna II, and west of Paungda Danda. This iconic climbing takes you to isolated sections crossing lush hills of central Nepal, high alpine grasslands, and rocky mountains with moderate peak climbing. The Pisang Peak summit is at an elevation of 6,091 meters/1,9984 feet. Despite the altitude, the climb is non-technical in most of the sections and is ideal for first-time climbers and experienced ones.
Starting of our Journey
The 14 days Pisang Peak Climbing starts once you reach the settlement of Chamje nestled in the magical Marsyangdi Valley. A drive from Kathmandu valley following the banks of Trishuli and Marsyangdi River takes to Chamje. From the settlement of Chamje head towards Dharapani traversing across a lush and deep wilderness of central Nepal. Next from Dharapani head towards Chame, passing the settlement of Koto. Koto is one of the isolated villages on this trail and the gateway to the mystical Nar Phu Valley.
From Chame head deeper into the Marsyangdi Valley, crossing a natural wonder of carving known as Swarga Dwari, translated as ‘Gates to Heaven.’ After you cross this section, you will reach the village nestled on the banks of the mighty Marsyangdi River with views of Annapurna II on the backdrop, the settlement of Upper Pisang. Explore the village and learn about the culture and lifestyles of the locals.
Pisang Peak Base Camp
Next, after an acclimatization excursion, the following day heads towards Pisang Peak Base Camp. A Kharka nestled on a ridge provides majestic views of the snowcapped giants. From the base camp head towards Pisang Peak High Camp and start your pre-climbing training. The following day you will scale the Pisang Peak. The trail to the peak is not technical, but you will be using fixed ropes at some sections. From the summit witness views of Chulu Range, Annapurna Massif, Damodar Peak, Manaslu, Glacier Dome, and Tilicho Peak. After spending a brief time at the summit head back down towards the base camp. Next, retrace your steps backcrossing several settlements in the dense woodland to Chame. From Chame head towards your transportation and back to Kathmandu valley.
