Itinerary

Your journey begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes, passing terraced fields, traditional villages, and lush forests. As you ascend, the air becomes cooler, and you’ll start to see the majestic peaks of the Langtang range. Dhunche is a small town with basic amenities, serving as the gateway to the Langtang and Gosaikunda regions.

The trek begins with a steady ascent through dense forests of oak, hemlock, and rhododendron. The trail is well-marked and offers occasional views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal. Along the way, you'll pass through small settlements and Buddhist shrines. Sing Gompa, also known as Chandan Bari, is a small village famous for its monastery and cheese factory. It’s a peaceful place with stunning mountain views, making it a perfect spot to spend the night.

Today’s trek takes you further uphill to Lauribinayak. The trail continues through rhododendron forests, gradually opening up to reveal expansive views of the Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, and the Annapurna range. As you gain altitude, the vegetation becomes sparser, and you’ll start to feel the effects of the higher elevation. Lauribinayak is a small resting point with basic lodges, offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

The trek to Gosaikunda Lake is one of the highlights of this journey. The trail ascends steeply towards the sacred lakes, passing several smaller lakes before reaching Gosaikunda. The area around Gosaikunda is a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. According to legend, the lake was created by Lord Shiva. Surrounded by rugged mountains, the tranquil blue waters of the lake are a breathtaking sight. After exploring the area and soaking in the spiritual atmosphere, you’ll spend the night in a lodge near the lake.

After a serene morning at Gosaikunda, you’ll begin your descent back to Sing Gompa. The trail retraces your steps, offering different perspectives on the landscape you’ve traversed. As you descend, the air becomes warmer, and you’ll pass through the same forests and shrines that marked your ascent. Back at Sing Gompa, you can relax and enjoy the tranquil environment, perhaps visiting the cheese factory for a final taste of the local delicacies.

The trek continues as you make your way down from Sing Gompa to Dhunche. The trail descends through forests and small settlements, offering a pleasant and relatively easy walk compared to the previous days. As you approach Dhunche, the familiar sights of the town come into view, signaling the end of the trekking portion of your journey. In Dhunche, you’ll spend your last night in the mountains, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past week.

On your final day, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu, retracing the scenic route through the hills and valleys. As you leave the mountains behind, you’ll return to the bustling city of Kathmandu, where your journey concludes. Once in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, marking the end of your trek.
