The Kathmandu Valley Ridge Trek combines several of these destinations and takes you on a short yet thrilling adventure exploring the hills networks of the valley. The trek takes you across the central hills of Chisapani-Nagarkot-Dhulikhel. Providing enthusiasts an opportunity to experience trekking and the rural lifestyle of the country.
Starting of Our Tour
The Kathmandu Valley Ridge Trek starts with a short drive toward Sundarijal. A small town located on the northern outskirts of the valley. From here traversing across the lush and deep wilderness of the Shivapuri National park reach the hilltop village of Chisapani. From here witness grand views of lush networks of hills and panoramic displays of the snowcapped mountain peaks.
Then the trek takes you following across ridges to the renowned hill station of Nagarkot. Here a large number of visitors come to relax and enjoy grand views during dawn and dusk. In Nagarkot soak yourself in the striking views of the greater Himalayas range from above the clouds. Next, the trek takes you to the ancient city of Dhulikhel. Traversing across lush woodlands and past various settlements reach Dhulikhel. Here get insight into the rich and vibrant history, culture, and traditions of the people. Also, visit several ancient temples around.
The next day thrill continues further heading toward Namobuddha. The Namobuddha Stupa is one of the sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the country. Nestled at a hilltop providing grand views of distant hills and mountains. Trekking through the impenetrable woodlands reaches the Stupa. Explore around and learn about the history and culture.
The trek ends after exploring the Namobuddha Stupa. From here head on a short drive towards the Kathmandu Valley. A short but interesting way to explore the hidden secrets around the Kathmandu Valley be a part of this Kathmandu Valley Ridge Trek.

Itinerary
Head on an early drive towards Sundarijal, located in the northern outskirts of the valley on the base of the Shivapuri National Park. An hour's drive will bring you to the small town of Sundarijal. Upon reaching here you will begin your trek. Following across a well-maintained series of stairs along the lush and deep wilderness of the hills of central Nepal. Progressing on the trail you will eventually reach the village of Mulkhara. After a brief rest again follow the trail ascending on stairs and off beaten track through deep sub-tropical woodlands. Shivapuri National Park is one of the best places in the valley for bird watching so keep an eye out as you may witness the biodiversity of the region. Progressing along ascending trails across sections of forests you will eventually reach the village of Chisapani. Upon reaching here head towards your accommodation and after a brief rest head out to witness the grand views of the landscape. To the north distant panoramic views of white snowcapped mountain peaks and rocky formations. On the other side are lush networks of the never-ending hills. Also, bask in the glorious views of the sunset.
Wake up early and enjoy the majestic views of the sunrise. After basking in the views and having breakfast start the trek. The trek takes you across the colorful hills of the central Nepal. Following across ridges and lush sections of woodlands reach Chauki Bhanjyang. After a brief stop at Chauki Bhanjyang continue the adventure again. Witnessing grand views of the Himalayan range and the networks of hills traverse across the deep wilderness of the region. After about three hours of trek you will finally reach Nagarkot. Upon arrival head towards your accommodation and rest. Later relax and enjoy the splendid views of the sun setting from the porch of your hotel.
Wake up before dawn and witness the grand views of sunrise from above the clouds changing the snowcapped peaks into an array of colors. After having your breakfast at the hotel start the trek. Today's trek is mostly on downwards sections and takes you across the impenetrable woodlands. After about 5-6 hours you will finally reach Dhulikhel. Preached at 1440 meters the small town of Dhulikhel has a rich and colorful history. Upon arriving head towards your accommodation and after a brief rest explore around. Visit various old glorious temples, narrow alleyways, and bustling markets. Strolling around learn about the culture and traditions of the people. In the afternoon relax and enjoy grand views of sunset from the porch of your hotel.
After breakfast starts the trek towards Dhulikhel. The 20 km trail takes around 6 hours. Start the trek traversing across the thick and dense woodlands of the region. As you progress you will reach Kali Mandir, a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. Next the trail takes you on a descending route down to the village of kavre and along some shops and tea houses. From here ascending through sub- tropical woodlands and thick pine forest you will reach Phulbari. Next following various hill network you will finally come across a ridge. As you progress on the ridge section witness the mystical views of the Stupa covered within layers of fog perched on a hilltop. Upon reaching Namobuddha Stupa, explore the vicinity and learn about the rich history and culture of the region. After exploring the area head back towards Kathmandu. A private vehicle will be waiting for you at Namobuddha. A short drive and finally you will reach Kathmandu.
