Best Time to Visit
The best times to visit the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. Here’s why:
Spring (March to May): The weather is generally mild with blooming rhododendrons and other wildflowers adding vibrant colors to the landscape. The temperatures are comfortable, and the skies are usually clear, offering excellent views of the Himalayas.
Autumn (September to November): This period features clear skies, stable weather, and mild temperatures. The trails are less muddy than in spring, and the visibility of the mountain peaks is often at its best. Winter (December to February) can be cold and snowy, especially at higher altitudes, which might make trekking more challenging. Summer/Monsoon (June to August) brings heavy rains, increasing the risk of landslides and muddy trails, which can affect the trekking conditions.

Travel insurance is required for all clients engaging in any activity. We strongly urge you to obtain a comprehensive insurance plan from a reputable provider. The cost varies based on coverage, duration, and provider.
Passport and Visa
Every client must have a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining from the return date. Visas can be obtained from the Nepalese consulate in your country or at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. The visa fee is approximately USD 30 for a 15-day tourist visa, USD 50 for a 30-day visa, and USD 125 for a 90-day visa.

While previous trekking experience is helpful, it is not mandatory; new trekkers should prepare by hiking on similar terrain. Health considerations are important, so consult a healthcare provider if you have pre-existing conditions and ensure you’re fit for high-altitude trekking. Acclimatization to the altitude is crucial, and being aware of symptoms of altitude sickness, such as headaches and dizziness, is important.
