Tent Peak Climbing: Tent peak locally known as Tharpu Chuli is nestled in the Annapurna region of Nepal. One of the classic trekking destinations of the country is located in Gandaki Province, in the northern-central part. This trek takes you to Annapurna Sanctuary regarded as home to deities by the local inhabitants. On this adventure, you will be trekking past the famous Machhapuchhre, and Annapurna Base Camp snuggled on a glacial basin, surrounded by the greater Himalayan range, and scaling the Tent Peak.
The Peak stands at an elevation of 5,695 meters/18,684 feet. It offers climbers and adventure seekers a taste of mountaineering in the Himalayas. The summit offers a different perspective of the mountains and views of Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, and other snowy peaks, rocky mountains, glaciers, and icefalls. The climb is ideal for novice as well as experienced trekkers and climbers and is regarded as one of the easiest peak climbing experiences in Nepal.
Starting from Kathmandu to Pokhara
The Tent Peak Climbing adventure starts with a ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara and towards Hile. Hile is the starting point of your trek, from Hile head towards the settlement of Thikhedhunga. Next, you will be heading towards Ghorepani traversing through the lush woodland of the region. Head towards the renowned vantage point of PoonHill and witness the views at dawn. The Himalayan giant Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli changing their white color according to the rays of the sun is a sight to behold. From the vantage point head towards Tadapani, Chomrong a village perched on a hilltop, and Dovan a riverside settlement.
From Dovan, following the ascending tail enter the nature’s corridor towards the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Once you reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp get a different perspective of the mountain from its far side. From Machhapuchhre Base Camp head towards Annapurna Base Camp, this section of trail offers you majestic views of the Himalayas, glaciers, streams, and lush green pasture lands. From the Base Camp enjoy the rings of mountains surrounding you. In the afternoon head out to witness the Himalayan sunset and later in the evening for stargazing.
After an acclimatization hike and pre-climb training the following day, you will be heading towards Tent peak. Traversing through glaciers, moraine, and rocky terrain with loose rocks and snowy. In this part of the trek, you will be maneuvering through a technical section using mountaineering gears. First, you will be reaching Tent Peak Base Camp following the northern part of the glacier, and next towards High Camp. From the high camp, you will be heading towards the Summit of Tent Peak. Witness the grandeur of the Himalayans from the summit and head back down towards the Base Camp.
Returning
Next, you will be retracing your steps backcrossing several villages and dense woodland to the settlement of Bamboo. From Bamboo head towards Jhinu Danda. Jhinu has a hot Himalayan spring located on the banks of the Modi River. Once you get to Jhinu soak in the healing waters of the hot spring and relax. Next day board a vehicle to Pokhara and Kathmandu the following day.

Itinerary
The flight into Nepal is majestic, with views of endless Himalayas and lush green forest. Once you land in Kathmandu, a representative from Female Guide Kathmandu will meet you and drive you to your hotel and assist you in check-in. After a brief rest head out and take a stroll around Thamel, a lively tourist hub. Later in the evening join in for a special welcome dinner and cultural show at an authentic Nepalese restaurant. Head out on a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley, and visit various ancient temples, monasteries other landmarks listed on the UNESCO world heritage site. Stroll around narrow alleyways and streets of the valley and witness the true culture and lifestyle of the region. In the evening join in for a short briefing with your guide about the trek and climbing. Overnight in Kathmandu
Today head towards the winding roads of Prithvi highway following the Trishuli river and eventually following the Marsyangdi River to the city of lakes Pokhara. Once you reach Pokhara after a brief rest head on a short drive to Hile. Upon reaching Hile your trek officially starts, traverse the banks of Modi Khola, a pristine river flowing from the Annapurna sanctuary. Trek across small hillside villages, waterfall along with the scenic mountain views covered with dense forest along the way to Thikhedhunga. Overnight in Thikhedhunga.
Wake up early and after breakfast, head onto the trail. Ascending on a series of well-paved stony stairs to Ulleri. On the trail witness views of snowy mountains and the lush deep wilderness of the central hills of Nepal. From Ulleri head towards Ghorepani following the staired trail. The trail provides majestic views of the snowy mountain peaks of Fishtail Peak and Annapurna South. Traversing through the lush woodland you will reach the villages of Ghorepani. Ghorepani is nestled below the famous vantage point of the Annapurna region, PoonHill. A halt station for horses and mule packs to drink water along the ancient trading route. Once you get to Ghorepani head towards your tea house later explore the area and start conversations with the friendly locals learning about their lifestyle and culture. Overnight in Ghorepani.
5 to 6 hours trek Get up early and hike towards the renowned vantage point of Poon Hill to witness marvelous sunrise over the Himalayas. Bask in the panoramic view of the snowy mountains of Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. Watch the rays of the sun turning the snowy white peaks into a hue of colors. After spending a brief time at the vantage point head towards Deurali Danda and towards Tadapani. Overnight in Tadapani.
5 to 6 hours trek Today you will be heading towards Chomrong, a village perched on a hilltop. After breakfast head towards the trail, this section is covered with thick, dense wet hills and sub-tropical woodlands, with views of Annapurna South, Fishtail, and Hiunchuli. Traversing across the trail past several settlements and rhododendron forest to the settlement of Chhomrong. Overnight in Chhomrong.
5 to 6 hours trek From Chhomrong head towards Dovan. Start on a steep descending trail and cross a suspension bridge over the Chhomrong Khoa. Trek through an impenetrable jungle of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron. Following the stone steps, as you progress on this thick jungle you will emerge out to the village of Dovan. Overnight in Dovan.
4 to 5 hours trek The trek starts following the pristine waters of the Modi River with its relaxing sounds. Following this riverside trail, you will reach a huge cave. The Hinku cave was used as a camp and warehouse by trekkers and climbers in the past for climbing expeditions. As you progress on the trail, you will reach Deurali a small settlement with stone huts. From here follow an ascending trail and you will reach nature's corridor and towards Machhapuchhre Base Camp. The Machhapuchhre peak has never been climbed to its summit, as it is regarded as a holy deity. Once you reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp you will witness grand views of Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli. Head towards your tea house later take a stroll around the area and witness the Himalayan sunset. Overnight in Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
2 to 3 hours trek Today's trek is short. Wake up early and witness the majestic Himalayan sight at dawn. After a light breakfast head onto the trail. The trail takes you into the Annapurna Sanctuary. The sanctuary is regarded as the abode of gods according to local folklore and legends. The trail is covered with wildflowers and glacier streams. As you approach Annapurna Base Camp, find yourself surrounded by the icy walls of the Himalayan peaks, and snowy walls of Annapurna Massif (including Annapurna I, the tenth highest peak in the world), Gangapurna, Hiunchuli, and other Himalayan peaks. Also, witness icefalls and a glacial basin surrounding the sanctuary. Once you reach the base camp head towards your tea house and later head out to catch the breathtaking Himalayan sunset. In the evening stargaze if the sky is clear, Annapurna Base Camp is a perfect location for stargazing. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.
Today is your acclimatization and pre-climb training day. Due to thin air at higher elevations, proper acclimatization is very crucial. Organize your gears, and the climbing guide will demonstrate the proper use of a harness, ascender, carabiner, rappel device, ice axe, etc. As part of the training session, you will have to climb up and descend using ropes. This pre-climb training is critical, especially for first-time climbers, as it will increase their confidence. After training head towards your accommodation and rest as tomorrow you will have to wake early. Overnight in Annapurna Base Camp
Start your trek early following the path of glaciers and moraine, the trail is covered with loses rocks and boulders. Take extra caution in this section, as you progress on the trail you will ascend towards the northern part of the glacier. Once you cross the glacier, you will reach a rather flat surface. The camp for today is Tharpu Chuli Base Camp. Upon you reach the base camp rest for the day as tomorrow, and you will be heading towards the high camp. 3 to 4 hours trek Wake up early in the morning and after breakfast follows the ascending trail towards the Tent Peak High Camp. This section of the climb needs technical maneuvering so follow your guide’s instruction and take cautious steps. The trail is on a 50 to 60-degree incline so ropes and other types of equipment are used on this part. Once you cross this section, you will be traversing on glacier terrain of around a 30-degree incline. Upon reaching the high camp enjoys a different perspective of the landscape of the region. Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli stand tall with all their grandeur. Head towards your camp and rest for the day, as tomorrow you will be climbing the Tent peak. 7 to 8 hours climb Wake up around 1 AM and make an early start by 2 AM or earlier. It is very vital to start early at high elevation the weather deteriorates as the day progresses. Start traversing on a steep slope covered with snow, the climb is exhausting so take it slow and have frequent rest. Before the final section, you will be traversing on flat ground. From where you will be using fixed ropes for the final section, this section requires technical maneuvers so follow the instructions from your climbing guide. As you reach the summit you will be welcomed by rows of endless mountain peaks, glaciers, and rocky mountains. Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and other mountain giants surround the area. Once you reach the base camp soak in the grand views and after spending a brief time retrace your steps back towards the Base Camp. Overnight in Base Camp.
6 to 7 hours trek Today head down towards Annapurna Base Camp and retrace your steps back to Machhapuchhre Base camp leaving the Annapurna Sanctuary. Follow the descending route crossing various villages and dense woodland to the settlement of Bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.
5 to 6 hours trek Today after breakfast head towards the trail to Kudi Ghar followed by a steep ascent to Sinuwa. Following the river trail, you will be traversing a series of stone-paved stairs towards Upper Chomrong. From here follow the downward trail to Jhinu Danda. Once you reach Jhinu head towards the hot Himalayan spring waters located at the banks of the freezing Modi Khola. Soak in your aching muscles in the healing hot water spring. Later head back to your accommodation. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.
2 hours trek and 2-3 hour drive After a late breakfast cross, the long suspension bridge from Jhinu and your transportation will be waiting for you on the other side of the bridge. Once you get to your transportation head towards Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara and check-in in your accommodation head out to explore the city of lakes. The city has various tourist attractions, or you may stroll around Phewa Lake or go for a boat ride. Overnight in Pokhara.
Today you will be heading to Kathmandu, driving alongside the Marsyangdi and Trishuli Rivers. Crossing several scattered hilltop villages, farmlands, and sections of the Mahabharat range. Once you reach Kathmandu head towards your accommodation and rest. Later stroll around the city and go souvenir shopping. In the evening join in for a special farewell dinner program to mark the success of your adventure with your team and our representative. Overnight in Kathmandu.
