The Chisapani Nagarkot Hike is a rewarding 2-day trek offering stunning views of the Himalayas and an immersive experience in the serene landscapes of Nepal. Starting from Kathmandu, this hike combines natural beauty with cultural experiences, making it an excellent short escape from the city. You’ll explore charming villages, enjoy panoramic mountain vistas, and immerse yourself in local traditions. The trek is suitable for those with moderate fitness and provides a refreshing glimpse into Nepal’s scenic and cultural heritage.
Accommodation
During your Chisapani Nagarkot hike, you will stay in Chisapani for one night at a local guesthouse. This accommodation offers a basic yet comfortable lodging experience, ideal for trekkers seeking a genuine and immersive mountain experience. The guesthouses in Chisapani provide clean rooms equipped with beds and blankets to ensure a restful night’s sleep. While amenities are relatively simple, the hospitality of the local hosts is warm and welcoming, enhancing your overall experience.
Food
The guesthouses typically offer hearty and satisfying meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients, giving you a taste of traditional Nepali cuisine. As Chisapani is a remote location, you can expect fewer modern conveniences compared to urban areas. However, this simplicity adds to the charm and authenticity of your stay, allowing you to fully appreciate the serene environment and the beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
Drinking Water
During the trek, it is essential to stay hydrated. In Chisapani and Nagarkot, drinking water is generally available at guesthouses and hotels. However, it is advisable to carry your own reusable water bottle and use water purification tablets or a water filter to ensure the water is safe to drink. Bottled water is also available for purchase along the way, but bringing your own purification method can help reduce plastic waste and ensure you have access to safe drinking water.
Entrance Permit
For the Chisapani Nagarkot hike, you will need to obtain a permit for Shivapuri National Park, as the trek passes through this protected area. This permit can be obtained from the Sundarijal checkpoint. It is advisable to verify the current regulations and obtain the necessary permits before starting your hike. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, consult with your trekking provider or local tourism office.
Passport Requirements
For the Chisapani Nagarkot hike, a valid passport is essential as part of your identification for traveling to Nepal. Ensure that your passport is up-to-date and has at least six months of validity remaining from your intended date of departure from Nepal. It is also a good idea to carry a photocopy of your passport, including the pages with your visa and entry stamps, as a backup. Always keep your passport in a secure place while traveling and only carry it when necessary. If you need any assistance with passport-related issues or require more information on visa requirements for your trek, consult with your local embassy or the trekking agency organizing your hike.
