Mohare Danda Trek: The Annapurna region of Nepal, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, is a haven for trekkers. Among its many routes, the Mohare Danda Trek stands out for its tranquil beauty and less-traveled paths. Situated at an altitude of 3,300 meters, Mohare Danda is nestled in a valley between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, not far from the renowned Ghorepani Poon Hill.
As a lesser-known trek starting from Pokhara, Mohare Danda offers an exceptional opportunity to immerse oneself in the serene Nepalese countryside while escaping the hustle and bustle of city life. This trek also provides a fascinating glimpse into the traditional culture and isolated lifestyle of the local people.
The adventure begins just outside Pokhara, a popular tourist hub, and involves a 4-5 hour drive to reach the trailhead. The journey takes you through a diverse landscape, including charming villages, rural farmlands, a paper-making facility, a cheese factory, dense forests, and fruit orchards, culminating in the highland village of Mohare Danda.
Typically completed in three to four days, the trek allows flexibility depending on your pace and the time you wish to spend at various spots. Its relatively low popularity compared to other treks makes it ideal for those seeking solitude away from the usual tourist crowds. The route lies within the Annapurna Conservation Area, but no special permit is required for trekking.
For those in search of genuine adventure, the Mohare Danda Trek offers a unique experience combining the beauty of Nepal’s rural mountain life with stunning scenery, and while it can be challenging, it remains accessible for those prepared for a rewarding trek.
